Auction Definitions & Terminology

Proxy Bid: A Proxy Bid is an absentee bid on a purchase for which one of our auction staff will bid for you in your place. Your bid will go through the standard bidding process. Our auction representative will go up to, but no higher than your top bid, trying of course, to purchase the item(s) for less than your maximum bid if possible.

If you are unable to attend an auction and wish to place a bid by proxy, Quaker City Auctioneers will bid for you. If your bid is successful, you are responsible to observe the specific sale and removal terms pertaining to that particular auction.

To proxy bid prior to the sale date, contact one of our representatives to act on your behalf. You must provide us with a description, lot number and/or serial number along with your desired bid amount. We will make every attempt to buy those items at the lowest possible price. You will be required to wire or send your bids with a 25% deposit to our office prior to sale day. Deposits for unsuccessful bids will be returned within 72 hours. For information call one of our representatives at 215-426-5300 fax 215-426-6897 or email us at info@quakercityauction.com.

Internet Bidding: There will be upcoming auctions where we will utilize on-line Internet bidding. Please follow the instructions for those sales where on-line bidding is available. See Proxibid link on our home page.  Otherwise please attend our sales in person or proxy your bids.
